Casey Joan Kollman is an award-winning, nonbinary & neurodivergent vocalist, actor, dancer & songwriter based in Chicago. Previously located in Milwaukee, she has professionally sung with Wisconsin-based choirs such as Chant Claire & Aperi Animam, and has worked as a music director as well (see below). They are a lifelong learner & performer, currently receiving dance training as a work-study dancer with Visceral Dance Center and improv training on scholarship with iO Theatre. Casey Joan enjoys writing her own music in her spare time, and is working on an album (listen to her demo here !).

CJ holds degrees from Lawrence University and Conservatory of Music in Vocal Performance (BM) and Theatre Arts (BA) with a minor in Vocal Pedagogy and a focus in Choral Leadership. Her education philosophy is passion-oriented, focusing on singers who are driven and dedicated.

Recent employment in both education & performance include: Music Director of Caesura with Kith & Kin Theatre Collective; Soprano with Aperi Animam; Phoebe Understudy/Ensemble in A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder with Kith & Kin Theatre Collective; Assistant Music Director of Into the Woods with Wautoma High School alongside Thomas Dubnicka; Soprano Soloist & Section Leader with North Shore Congregational Church; Soprano with Chant Claire; Long-Term Choral Substitute & Voice Lesson Teacher with Muskego High School and Park Prairie Middle School; Voice & Piano Private Lesson Teacher with Music&Arts in Muskego; Short-Term Band Director with MHS; Soprano Soloist & Alto Section Leader with First Congregational United Church of Christ.

A lifelong student herself, CJ works & trains as a triple-threat with professionals all around the country. She is currently training with Mike Petrone out of LA, and has been since 2022. She takes voice lessons herself with Dr. Chuck Chandler out of DePaul’s School of Music, and performs all around Chicago.

Awards include: iO Theatre Scholarship (2026); Danceworks, Inc. Scholarship (2025); Schubert Club Thelma Hunter Award (2024); Mississippi Opera Competition (Semi-Finalist); NATS Semifinalist (2023, 2024); Schubert Club 2nd Place Winner (2023).
